  • *Salary:** €90,000 \- 100,000\+ (depending on experience)
  • We are partnered with a large, established financial services organisation currently looking for a Lead Developer with expertise in Java or Kotlin. With a sizeable in\-house engineering function and a significant cloud migration initiative underway, this is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future architecture of a modern enterprise platform landscape. The legacy code is in COBOL, so any experience with this language is highly preferable.

As a Lead Developer or Architect, you will provide technical leadership across a team of approximately 10\-12 engineers, helping drive architectural decisions, modernisation initiatives, and engineering best practices.

This is not a heavily hands\-on coding role. Instead, the focus is on architecture, technical direction, mentoring engineers, and guiding the evolution of large\-scale business\-critical systems.

    Required Experience

  • Strong background in Java or Kotlin development, and enterprise application architecture * Previous experience in a Lead Developer, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer or Architect role * Spring, Springboot, microservices, Kafka, Kubernetes, * Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure or GCP) * Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices * Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers * Fluent German language skills (minimum C1 level)
  • Desirable Experience

  • Kotlin * CI/CD and DevOps practices * Experience working within large\-scale enterprise environments * Exposure to legacy system modernisation * Knowledge of COBOL\-based environments * Angular or other frontend technologies (beneficial but not required)
