In order to support Procurement Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

**Procurement Manager Aerostructures - Fast Track & Special Programmes (d/f/m)**

The Procurement Manager Development & NPI Integration acts as the strategic integrator and procurement process guardian between engineering, programme management, Aerostructures CoE, industrial management and the procurement teams during the early phases of programme or product development.

You support the Aerostructures commodities and MFTs by holding structural accountability for the integration process. Your mission is to ensure:

• That all early-stage architecture, Make-or-Buy decisions and supplier selections are co-authored and natively owned by the commodities from day one, and perfectly positioned for long-term series scalability
• That all corresponding commodity and MFT activities are performed within the defined programme plan and synchronized with the roadmaps of the relevant stakeholders

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

• Your tasks and responsibilities**

• Upstream Architecture & Strategic Integration**

• Industrial Policy Interface**: Act as the designated Aerostructure Procurement representative in early-stage Industrial Architecture and Engineering forums. Ensure upcoming Make-or-Buy debates and Core vs. Non-Core definitions are flagged early, structurally pulling in the accountable commodity managers to provide strategic framing before design baselines freeze.
• Orchestrated Technology Scouting:** Partner with Engineering during early technology scouting phases. Act as the commercial guardian, ensuring that when technical teams evaluate innovative suppliers, the relevant commodity teams are immediately integrated to vet long-term industrial capability and corporate alignment.
• Supplier Landscape Co-Alignment:** Coordinate the initial supplier ecosystem configuration for new programmes, ensuring that early supplier choices respect the final accountability and long-term roadmap of the commodity teams.

• Programme Planning, Cost Governance & Risk Mapping**

• Early Value Engineering Coordination:** Facilitate technical workshops by actively bringing engineering departments and the accountable commodity managers together. Secure and synthesize procurement inputs for early-stage cost estimation, Target Costing, and Design-to-Cost (DtC) initiatives. Ensure supplier innovations are integrated early without bypassing established commodity strategies or compliance pathways.
• Synchronized Milestones:** Map out early procurement long-lead items, prototype tooling, and supplier development phases, embedding these milestones directly into the master Programme Schedule to align Engineering deadlines with Commodity capacities.
• Risk Transparency:** Facilitate early supply chain risk assessments regarding low technical maturity, single-source dependencies, and schedule compression, forcing early visibility so commodities can co-sign risk-mitigation budgets.

• Early Sourcing Execution & Operational Bundling**

• Development Sourcing Management:** Define the overall plan and support the operational execution of early-stage RFIs, RFPs and tenders while ensuring the accountable commodity managers retain ownership . Where adequate, act as a sparring partner and challenge relevant stakeholders to promote new ways of working and innovate suppliers throughout the bid evaluation, assessment of industrial capabilities and partner selection.

• Development Contract Alignment:** Supports if needed the negotiation of development contracts, statements of work (SoWs), and Non-Recurring Cost (NRC) terms, ensuring the contractual framework supports a smooth future transition into standard series agreements.
• Early Operational Bundling:** Act as the central point of escalation for ensuring contract execution, including of key development milestones.

• Integrated Governance & Series Convergence**

• Continuous Series Convergence: Lead the Aerostructures Procurement milestone reviews, ensuring that all early-stage sourcing and architectural decisions are natively owned by the respective commodities from the start, eliminating the need for downstream validation or retroactive approvals.

• Desired skills and qualifications**

• Experience:** Robust track record in aerospace project procurement, New Product Introduction (NPI), or supply chain coordination within highly complex matrix organizations.
• The "Orchestrator" Mindset**: Proven capability to lead, influence, and drive cross-functional alignment without direct disciplinary authority. You must excel in an environment of dual-accountability (owning the integration process while commodities own the final strategic choice).
• Technical, Financial & Process Literacy**: Ability to speak the language of Industrial Architects and Engineers, combined with a strong understanding of industrial cost estimation, program scheduling, and aerospace procurement mechanisms.
• Diplomatic Assertiveness:** High emotional intelligence paired with the confidence to challenge senior engineering and procurement stakeholders. Ability to balance fast-paced engineering desires with disciplined, long-term procurement strategy.
• Ambiguity Management**: High tolerance for operating in the "gray zone" of early development, with a demonstrated ability to establish structure, schedules, and definitions where standard processes do not yet exist.
