Tasks

Your mission

We are looking for a Product Engineering Lead who can architect scalable systems, navigate complex data architectures, and drive engineering excellence. Moving beyond traditional software delivery, you care as much about why we build something as how we build it.

From day one, you'll have real ownership over outcomes, not just output.

• Own the architecture and scalability of our B2B procurement platform, connecting every technical decision to customer value, revenue impact, and our wider business strategy.
• Drive end-to-end technical strategy, design, and architecture, translating ambitious product requirements into performant and scalable features.
• Challenge assumptions, working with product, design, and commercial teams to evaluate trade-offs and technical permutations to engineer optimal, user-centric solutions.
• Shape the technical strategy and architecture of our platform, making pragmatic calls on scalability, security, and reliability that balance speed, quality, and long-term cost.
• Set clear goals for yourself and your team, defining priorities, measuring what matters, and holding the team accountable without waiting for direction.
• Cultivate engineering excellence across the team, providing high-impact mentorship, technical guidance, and rigorous code reviews to continuously elevate development standards.
• Lead by example with hands-on technical execution, authoring high-quality, maintainable code across our TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js stack.

Requirements

What you need to succeed

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading and managing engineers: hiring, developing people, and running a team through complex, full lifecycle product deliveries.
• A strong product and business mindset, understanding how your past work affected customers, revenue, or company goals.
• Deep technical proficiency in TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem, with hands-on experience building data-dense interfaces in React or Next.js.
• Solid experience in API design, backend architecture, and relational data modelling (PostgreSQL preferred), plus cloud-native infrastructure on platforms like AWS.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business audiences and align stakeholders.
• Basic familiarity with Python is a plus, or a strong technical curiosity to expand into auxiliary parts of our data processing stack.
