Senior Analytics Engineer - Acquisition
In this role you'll join the Commerce Data Domain in our Acquisition Tribe within Run & Grow, information that squads across SumUp rely on every day for analytics and business decisions. You're joining at a pivotal moment where you'll get to take full ownership of the Subscriptions data products, and shaping how they're built, tested, and trusted from here on. It's a rare chance to set things up properly from the ground up, establishing the data contracts, ownership standards, and quality practices that don't fully exist yet, and setting the bar the rest of the domain will be measured against.
What you'll do:
- Own the transformation stage of the Subscriptions data products, turning raw source data into clean, tested, business ready tables that others can build on with confidence
- Consolidate inherited Subscriptions marts into a single, trusted set of tables covering the full subscription and revenue lifecycle
- Define clear data contracts for every data product, covering structure, meaning, quality guarantees, and freshness, so consumers never have to ask how something works
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and analysts early in the development cycle to shape how commerce data is captured, modelled, and governed
- Build automated testing, freshness monitoring, and documentation into every pipeline, catching issues before they reach consumers
You'll be great for this role if:
- Strong command of dbt, including testing, documentation, and modelling conventions, used to enforce data quality and consistency across a domain
- Solid stakeholder management skills, comfortable aligning product managers, engineers, and business teams around shared priorities and a single source of truth
- Proven experience building and maintaining production data systems end to end, from source data through to the insights layer
- Expert level SQL and hands on experience building layered data models in a modern data warehouse or lakehouse environment, ideally Snowflake
- Ability to translate business requirements into clean, reusable data models across entities, events, and business rules
