*About the Role**
Our client is looking for an experienced Solar PV Engineer to design and develop safe, efficient and cost\-effective solar PV solutions for commercial and industrial rooftop projects in Germany. You are responsible for technical engineering throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and initial site assessments to detailed design, construction support, commissioning and handover. Working closely with Project Management, Site Management, Procurement and other technical teams, you ensure that designs meet project requirements, applicable German standards and practical installation needs.
*Responsibilities**
Technical design: conduct feasibility studies, site assessments and technical analyses to develop practical, cost\-effective PV solutions.
* Solar PV engineering: prepare PV layouts, string configurations, DC/AC designs, cable calculations, electrical schematics and component specifications.
* Technical documentation: develop and maintain drawings, calculations, technical specifications and engineering documentation.
* Standards \& compliance: ensure designs comply with applicable German electrical standards, including relevant DIN VDE regulations and grid connection requirements.
* Technical project support: provide engineering input for project planning, risk assessments, technical decisions and problem\-solving.
* Suppliers \& components: evaluate technical specifications, supplier documentation and proposed equipment.
* Construction \& commissioning: support project teams during installation, inspections, testing, commissioning and final handover.
* Continuous improvement: contribute to standardised designs, engineering processes and technical best practices.

* Make independent technical design decisions within approved project specifications and engineering standards.
* Review and assess technical drawings, calculations, components and supplier documentation.
* Recommend technical solutions and implement approved design adjustments.
* Identify and escalate issues affecting safety, quality, costs, timelines or contractual requirements.
*Qualifications**
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Renewable Energy or a comparable discipline. Relevant qualifications as Staatlich geprüfter Techniker or Meister may also be considered.
* Experience: 3\-6 years of engineering experience in solar PV, renewable energy, EPC or comparable technical projects.
*Required Skills**
Electrical expertise: strong knowledge of AC systems, DC engineering, PV system configurations, cable sizing and electrical schematics.
* Solar PV: experience with commercial and industrial rooftop PV installations is highly desirable.
* Software: experience with AutoCAD and PV engineering tools such as PVsyst, PV\*SOL, PVcase or HelioScope is an advantage.
* Standards: familiarity with applicable DIN VDE standards, VDE\-AR\-N grid connection rules and German grid operator requirements (TAB).
* Languages: fluent German and good English communication skills.
* Personal skills: analytical, detail\-oriented and solution\-focused, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across technical disciplines.
